Foam End Caps

End caps protect the most vulnerable geometry in packaging: the end of a long or heavy part, where a drop concentrates all its energy. IPS fabricates five-sided caps that cup the product — the walls absorb side impacts while the base cushions axial drops.

Foam end caps fabricated in EPS and polyethylene

Sizing follows the IPS catalog convention: specify outside dimensions and the standard 1" wall gives an internal fit of your part dimensions plus clearance. Example: IPS-EC-6080-30PE fits a 4.0" × 6.0" part.

Frequently asked questions

How much clearance should an end cap have?

For a friction fit, spec the cavity at your part dimension; for slip-on caps applied on a line, add 1/16"–1/8". Tell us how it's applied and we'll set the fit.

PE or EPS end caps?

PE flexes, recovers, and survives repeated handling — best for reusable or premium packs. EPS is rigid and the most economical for one-way shipping of heavy products like appliances.

Can caps be made for odd shapes?

Yes — CNC wire cutting produces cavities for non-rectangular profiles without tooling. Send a drawing or a physical sample.
